Brian, Katy and I spent our final night on Isle Royale National Park at the Lane Cove #5 campsite on the north side of the island. Our campsite nestled up against the shore of Lake Superior with a magnificent view of Sleeping Giant Provincial Park off in the distance. This video covers our hike from Lane Cove up and over the central ridge of the island and back down to Rock Harbor and our flight back to Houghton, Michigan later that afternoon. This glorious day surrounded us with lush greenery and bird song. The ascent up to the central spine of the island was challenging and we circumvented several flooded beaver dams without incident. Brian and I added a short jaunt from Rock Harbor to the westernmost point of the island for a spectacular view of Lake Superior. An exciting seaplane ride back to Houghton was a fitting end to our adventure.
